Understanding How Federal Government Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT) Funds Work
The National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO) is responsible for delivering targeted cash transfers nationwide. However, the actual implementation takes place at the state level through the State Cash Transfer Unit (SCTU).
The SCTU manages and coordinates the targeted cash transfer and livelihood interventions. Within each local government area, a cash transfer team is established to implement activities at the community level. This approach aims to:
- Improve household consumption.
- Increase utilization of health and nutrition services.
- Improve school enrollment and attendance.
- Enhance environmental sanitation and management.
- Encourage household financial and asset acquisition.
- Engage beneficiaries in sustainable livelihood practices.
