Applicants for Nigerian Navy Automobile Mechanics must be between the ages of 18 – 26 YEARS and must possess both the O’Level and OND qualification mentioned here.
As an Automobile Mechanic, you will supervise, maintain and repair wheeled vehicles and select armored vehicles that serve the Navy in a variety of mission-critical roles.
You’ll inspect, service, maintain & test wheeled vehicles, material handling equipment systems, subsystems and components and automotive electrical systems, including wiring, starting and charging systems.
The rank of a Nigerian Navy Automobile Mechanics immediately after recruitment is “Ordinary Rating”.
It is the first non-commissioned rank that successful recruits obtain after passing out of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS).
The Nigerian Navy salary is based on ranks.
And since the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) entry rank is Ordinary Rating.
Your salary as a fresh Automobile Mechanic in Nigerian Navy immediately after recruitment will be around ₦45,854 monthly.
It increases as you advance in rank.

You must have at least CREDIT in these subjects:

- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Any other Science subject
You are also required to possess:
- Minimum of OND Lower Credit in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
Also intermediate City & Guilds or Trade Test II could be considered. Technical bias will be an advantage.
