Take note.
The Nigerian Navy form for NNBTS recruitment is CLOSED. Application started on Wednesday, 29 March 2023 and closed on Saturday, 06 May 2023.
Some departments in Nigerian Navy Basic Training School – NNBTS recruitment require ONLY your Secondary School Certificate (O’Level) to apply.
While other departments require NCE, OND, Diploma or Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife certificate.
Along with your educational qualification(s), the following Nigerian Navy recruitment requirements are also compulsory for your application to be considered.
You MUST:
- Possess a minimum of five (5) CREDITS (including English and Mathematics) at not more than 2 sittings in WASSCE, SSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB.
Sportsmen/sportswomen only require 4 credits at not more than 2 sittings (including English).
Your secondary school certificate must not be older than 6 years from the date of your application.
- Be between the ages of 18 – 22 years for categories requiring only Secondary School Certificate.
- Be between the ages of 18 – 26 years for categories requiring NCE, OND, Diploma, Registered Nurse/Midwife as well as for Drivers/Mechanics and sportsmen/sportswomen categories.
If you possess qualifications higher than those specified above, do NOT apply for Navy Basic Training but see how to APPLY FOR NAVY DIRECT SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION (DSSC).
- Be single and of Nigerian citizen by birth.
- Be AT LEAST 1.69m tall for males and 1.65m for females.
- Possess National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).

Remember that,
Joining the Nigerian Navy through this NNBTS recruitment means you begin as a Non-Commissioned Officer with the rank of “ORDINARY RATING”.
This is the first non-commissioned rank that successful recruits obtain after passing out of the 6-month training at the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS).
- The Navy recruitment starts with the online screening of your submitted qualifications and bio-data to see if you meet all their requirements.
- Followed by aptitude exams written in designated centres nationwide.
- Then shortlisting of candidates who pass the exam VERY WELL and meet all the requirements into the Navy Basic Training School.
- Finally, the full enlistment of cadets who successfully pass out of the 6-month Navy Basic Training School programme.
So after submitting your application, start preparing to pass the exam VERY WELL with past questions & current affairs, especially about the Nigerian Navy.

- The default form that shows up is for new applicants to register.
If you have registered on the website before, click the LOGIN button and input your email and password.
But if you are a new applicant, input your NIN, email and password on the first form that shows up and click the REGISTER button.
You will see a success message on the screen that says “An account has been created.”
- After the success message, click the LOGIN button and input your email and password.
- Next is to fill your Bio-data, Next of Kin, Primary School, Secondary School, O’Level, Tertiary, Referees and some other details
- Click the SUBMIT button to complete your application.
After submitting your form, print out copies of your completed application form together with the following forms:
- Declaration and Certification by Parent/Guardian Form.
- Local Government Area Certification Form.
- Police Certification Form.
- Guarantor Form.
- ‘For Official Use Only’ Form.
You are to go to your recruitment exam centres with the endorsed printed-out copies of the online completed Forms.
