What are the duties of an ICT Officer in Nigerian Navy?

As an ICT Officer, you will incorporate electronic technologies and techniques used to manage information & knowledge, including information-handling tools used to produce, store, process, distribute and exchange information.

Managing version control of script / interface changes. environment e.g. RFC’s, Tasks etc. Identify appropriate technical solutions to Naval problems. 

You will also work with existing supplier contracts to establish latest software release in line with the release management process.

What rank is ICT Officer in Nigerian Navy?

The rank of a Nigerian Navy ICT Officer immediately after recruitment is “Ordinary Rating”.

It is the first non-commissioned rank that successful recruits obtain after passing out of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS).

How much is Nigerian Navy ICT Officer paid monthly?

The Nigerian Navy salary is based on ranks.

And since the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) entry rank is Ordinary Rating.

Your salary as a fresh ICT Officer in Nigerian Navy immediately after recruitment will be around ₦45,854 monthly.

It increases as you advance in rank.

Requirements for Nigerian Navy recruitment for ICT 

Now let’s see the required O’Level and OND grades that qualifies you to apply for ICT in Nigerian Navy.

Only O’Level and OND are required for this position, if you possess higher qualifications (Degree, HND, etc), kindly APPLY FOR DIRECT SHORT SERVICE (DSSC).

O’Level requirements for ICT in Nigerian Navy

The Nigerian Navy accepts ANY of these O’Level results (WAEC, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, WAEC City & Guilds or London City & Guild) at not more than 2 sittings and not older than 6 years from the date of your application.

In your O’Level result,

You must have at least CREDIT in these subjects:

• English Language
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Any other Science subject

Higher education requirements for ICT in Nigerian Navy

You are also required to possess:

• Minimum of OND Lower Credit in Computer Studies / Computer Science.

Also intermediate City & Guilds or Trade Test II could be considered. Technical bias will be an advantage.

Practical requirements for ICT in Nigerian Navy

• Proficiency or industrial certification in any of the under listed areas shall be an added advantage: Database, Computer-Aided Design, Personal Computer Maintenance, Networking Fundamentals, Website Development and Management, Programming.
