    Applicants for Nigerian Navy Sportsmen and Sportswomen must be between the ages of 18 – 26 YEARS and must possess both the O’Level and OND qualification mentioned here.

    What are the duties of a Sportsman and Sportswoman in Nigerian Navy?

    As a Sportsman and Sportswoman, you will take instructions regarding strategy from coaches and other sports staff during practices & competitions. 

    You’ll also practice to develop & improve your skills and keep the sports equipment in good condition. Exercise, train, and follow special diets to stay in the best physical condition.

    What rank is Sportsmen and Sportswomen in Nigerian Navy?

    The rank of a Nigerian Navy Sportsman and Sportswoman immediately after recruitment is “Ordinary Rating”.

    It is the first non-commissioned rank that successful recruits obtain after passing out of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS).

    How much are Nigerian Navy Sportsmen and Sportswomen paid monthly?

    The Nigerian Navy salary is based on ranks.

    And since the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) entry rank is Ordinary Rating.

    Your salary as a fresh Sportsman and Sportswoman in Nigerian Navy immediately after recruitment will be around ₦45,854 monthly.

    It increases as you advance in rank.

    Requirements for Nigerian Navy recruitment for Sportsmen and Sportswomen 

    Now let’s see the required O’Level and OND grades that qualifies you to apply for Sportsman and Sportswoman in Nigerian Navy.

    Only O’Level and OND are required for this position, if you possess other higher qualifications (Degree, HND, etc), kindly APPLY FOR DIRECT SHORT SERVICE (DSSC).

    O’Level requirements for Sportsmen and Sportswomen in Nigerian Navy

    The Nigerian Navy accepts ANY of these O’Level results (WAEC, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, WAEC City & Guilds or London City & Guild) at not more than 2 sittings and not older than 6 years from the date of your application.

    In your O’Level result,

    You must have at least CREDIT in these subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Any other Science subject

    Higher education requirements for Sportsmen and Sportswomen in Nigerian Navy

    You are also required to possess:

    • BSc/HND/OND in Sports Journalism, Recreational Facilities Management Education, or many other related Sport courses.

    Practical requirements for Sportsman and Sportswoman in Nigerian Navy

    • Alternatively, candidates must have participated in any National Championship / All African Games / Olympic Games or Any International Competitions with License from National Sports Federation / State Sports Association.
