Berea College Scholarships – Details
Berea College was established in 1855 by a passionate advocate for the abolition of slavery. since then, Berea College has been paying for students’ tuition for nearly 130 years. This because Berea college believes that Student debt has a disproportionate impact on families with lower economic resources.
However, in the subsequent years, international students are required to set aside $1,000 (US) annually to contribute to their expenses. Berea College offers summer employment opportunities to international students to help them meet this financial commitment.
Upon acceptance, international students are expected to remit a $50 (US) enrollment fee and a $2,200 (US) deposit to confirm their enrollment. This deposit can be utilized by international students for specific expenses during their four-year enrollment. In cases where students cannot cover the entire deposit or a portion of it, additional financial aid options are accessible.
All international students are granted a compensated on-campus job through Berea College’s Work Program throughout the academic year. Students can use their earnings (approximately US $2,000 in the first year) to cover personal expenses.
